A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words, thoughts follow.

~Thoughts for the day~
I am thinking of the word perception. “The doors of Perception” specifically. Perception is perceiving things. It’s the question “What is this particular thing about? What can I glean from my senses? Sight? Hearing? Touch?
The first thing is to truly see so that we can understand what something is. Does it make noise? We must listen next and determine what kind of noise it is. Is it a language we know? Or a pleasant or disturbing sound. What kind of object, person, animal or plant, tree? ____makes that sound? Is it something we want to touch? We are back to sight. Does it smell? Good or bad?
If it is another human, then it evolves how we communicate with each other. Perceptions are however, formed in the same sort of way.
Aldous Huxley said, “There are things known and things unknown, and in between are the doors of perception.
Stephen Harrod Buhner in his book titled “Beyond the doors of perception PLANT INTELLIGENCE AND THE IMAGINAL REALM” writes that “All organisms encounter a specific kind of environment from the moment they are born. And every one of them has to be able to perceive that environment, take in the information about it, and pro-can or do exist in complete isolation from their environment and there never can be. There is no way to stand here and look at the world over there, as if there were no connection between the two except an observing brain.”
My mind focuses on humans and how we process through thoughts and feelings. I think of how the brain houses the mind. How the brain works to use the information we file away. That information uses what we perceive.
We write, do art, create music from what is perceived. We stack up the pros and cons to make up our belief systems. This is our truest reality. It is until something comes a long and changes our perception. Our reality of what that truest reality is.
When I write poetry, I keep this kind of knowledge in the forefront of my mind. The perceptions I personally have and included are the perceptions others may have or have given some kind of acknowledgement as what they believe as their truest reality. The result is a mix of things or of one mindedness. This can form common bonds between people.
Buhner states that “The doors of perception are in fact the sensory portals through which we experience the world.” Perception is something learned ages ago and which has come forward evolving right along with us humans. We live in different times now, but instinct, self-perceptions and the perceptions about what kind of world or people are around us is determined by this age-old connection to the world we live in, in the time we live in.
Perception has a lot to do with the art we create. It involves concluding purpose, the way of why we do what we do as people. It is the same with all things that live, their purpose stems from their personal anatomy. Consciousness is a part of perception too! How? Because without perceiving the world around you, you would not know how to become what you are. Your brain is a part of a conscious living organism. Your body thrives inside you mother until you are born. It has the purpose to become.
