Good Morning, Sunshine!

The morning has past, but I am still in a writing mood, so here I am! More thoughts to share!

Thinking of spirituality.

When I think of how I feel about Spirituality___ I lean towards the connections felt. I would describe it as oneness with the world itself. It is being conscious of the world around you. It is the feel of vibration in the body. It is trusting and believing in one’s connections. Especially with the earth and the universe. I see the universe as the greatest conscious being. God to many people. This makes sense if God is within, and we are a part of God. God needs a name. There are at least 114 different names to address God. I have come to a point where I cannot ignore spirituality and the presence of something greater. I believe if we are a part of this great consciousness as is believed by may people, then it all makes sense. It is natural to us to have connections. Those often ignored or not understood. Understanding comes from experience, and so it is with connecting to this lifegiving force.

I think to do it well, this art of being connected to others we need to give thought to our relationships with one another. Not just roll along and let things happen. And if we don’t like something ignore it or cast it the relationship aside.

We can’t hang onto all connections we make. Some are short term for a whole lot of reasons. Others long term because strong connections are made. Life and the people in it are interesting if we take the time to observe and experience them.

I remember when a teacher pointed out that we all have a philosophy. I had never thought of this before, then I realized that the teacher was right! Think of the great philosophers noted in history. We all know of Plato! These were individuals who thought about what it was to be human and took note of the world around them. Thoughts on a higher plain: as historic value, pearls of wisdom. Yet civilizations come and go repeating mistakes and repeating successes. Looking back and learning from past experience is not a bad thing! I hope to always learn. Again, this is how life is interesting. Being the unique individuals, we are.

As unique as all that becomes out of consciousness. We are meant to grow in mind, body and spirit. We are meant to come to understand the experience of living life well.

The Written word (about writing).

I write because I learned to love reading when very young, and I learned how to write through that at first. Then along came schooling. A teacher who told me I should be a journalist or writer recommended keeping journals. A Great Aunt, my grandmother sister, Viola Benjamin who wrote for the Portland Press Herald told me I needed to get rid of such words as got and aint if I wanted to be a writer! That paying attention to clarity was important. I did not go into journalism. But writing has been one of my compulsions, as is creating art. Being a writer you give up bits of who you are for others to identify with. We often feel somewhat the same about many things. Just twist and turns, and additions due to experiences.

~Poetry & Me~

The River’s Edge In Morning Light.

The River’s dark pool, subdued in morning light, dark green and still.

Deep water which in time gives up some of it’s mysteries.

It will become translucence, a muddy bottoms showing through.

Fish feed by uneven rocks, black and slimy, green. Waving tails.

The chill of night slows them down. They wait to come to the surface.

On the bottom objects dot the hills and valleys there.

A rusty can, a broken bobber still red and white and a foot print filling in.

River grass dances back and forth, and there I sit perched on a cold rock.

Rough, it chafes my hands. I am wrapped tight in last nights blanket.

It is almost enough. The coffee in my hands warms me, while it can.

I watch the sun climb higher still making the shadows longer.

It sprinkles diamonds on the pools surface. The fish are coming.

Ripples spread out as they skim to find the mornings treats.

Blue Flag open across the way. Laced by spider webs wet with dew.

Emerald blue Junipers create a back drop, and start to give off their perfume.

Lazy bugs come too. They linger to long over the still deep water.

So quickly they are gone! Ripples of water the only tell tale sign.

The birds were already up for the day! If I am quiet enough, still enough__

I will see who else is there with me.
