Good Morning sunshine!

Good morning! There is sunshine out there! Blue skies! Love it!

Today I am thinking of the things I want to happen for myself. This means being a “do something person” and making the plan. One I can stick to! Plans don’t happen unless we do stick to them! Something called sticktoitiveness! Yet another world from my elder’s while growing up. It’s a good word! I like list that I can cross off when making plans! Then I have an order of operations which can be prioritized.

Some jobs to be done are not fun, but necessary. These require just jumping into them! Once done, well they are done! Organizing the things in the basement to bring more over from a storage unit is necessary if I do not want to keep paying for storage. Then once done there will be a return to normalcy.

Making plans for the day gives the mind problems to solve, so one is not thinking about “what troubles” us. The choice is to have a cloud follow you around all day, where there is a sense of being down, even dread. That sense we give reasons to “why we are feeling this way, and then it is off to the races! The mind stacks up all the possible reasons why we have a cloud over our heads. Well, we need to let the cloud rain so it will go away, or we need to be the wind which seems much faster. Feeling the feeling is not a bad thing, but feeling the feelings, all day is a bit much and down heartedness sets in. Not going there and changing the subject on the self seems to be the most successful way forward.

Laughter changes things up. Being able to laugh at the self is a good thing. I am surprised when I find myself laughing at myself or something. I realize this means I feel good about my life, that there is balance.

Finding humor is tricky it seems. I look at comedies and then feel like I am forever there trying to find something truly funny, that is not making less of someone. That is troubling when you think of it. Where did funny go? Has it always been at someone else’s expense? Who gages what is ok for funny? I guess I think some forms of funny are accidents where people don’t get hurt, where people can laugh at themselves along with others that see it. Well, I won’t explore what is funny more than this. It is good to be able to laugh with the self. Being too serious is not good either!

Somehow what we watch for movies has reached a limit, where it loses my interest. I am liking books better! How we got to this stage of what’s approved is by what became acceptable. It was called the Neilsen ratings. The Nielsen Media Research, an American firm which measures media audiences. TV, radio, theatre, films and newspapers. Its goal is to give people what they want. The thing is, what does it really say about people’s interests? It seems like the more we watch the less sensitive we are to what really hurts us, and others. It feels like we are being led by these influences. If we don’t give into watching things, then the rating changes depending on what we chose. I don’t think people realize this is how it is supposed to work. The next thing is does what we want to see truly matter? Our choices do! We don’t need to go there. It feels the same way with books. I want good movies, and good books which are well made or well written! It feels like I have to dig deeper for these.

May love and laughter find you! Have a great day! Best wishes! Pejj Nunes 4/21/2026
