~Thoughts for the day~

Shibui is on my mind. Perhaps I should create a class where we create Shibui in hard maple wooden bowls!

AN UNFINISHED SHIBUI FOUND IMAGE ART.

This particular Shibui is almost done. Lots of layers of pastel pencils! It gets set aside because of the need for a layer to sit for a bit. The it to finish is the sky area on the upper left. I love this particular Shibui.

The trees in the front turned out very cool. The trick with pastel pencil layering is to make little round circles closely together. To work shadow into the green of the trees I use indigo blue, forest green, dark purple. Then, a layer of green over the top of those colors. A blender pencil works well to marry colors. A blender pencil leaves a shiny gloss. Yet it enhances, doing its magic.

Some of the work required of the Shibuiest is design work. Even stylized as you see with what happened with my tree. They moved into the appearance of having a 3D affect.

~ What’s happening in the studio? ~

More sorting out of artwork to be framed. I am hanging a body of work at the Age of Aquarius Health Center. I will be hosting an opening there soon. The planning stage has not begun, more prep work to do. Find art for the exhibition. Write ups for the newspapers. Planning food. And sending invites out to people! All very exciting!

Generating some new works will be fun as well! Holding events turns those juices on!

There are three oil pastels already hanging at the center. Kellie hosts group meeting for Somatic Meditation, love this! Reiki sessions, readings, and several other events I am not familiar with as yet. She sells, crystals and gems, jewelry, statues, Tarot cards, clothing, and more its earthy, and spiritually warm there. I love all the ladies who come to the Somatic Meditation group. Heron is the beautiful person who holds this group.

So, it is time to focus on my work, getting the WordPress into what I want it to be. Creating my business plan! Life really does feel good when your moving forward.

My daughter Clairissa came by with a card, a basket of beautiful burnt orange Calibrachoa. Perfectly match my boho look! And a cute flag for the garden out front. Has a mushroom and little gnome on it.
