Revenue stream goals for 2024: (1) The creation of 12 pastel still life’s. Below is one example of my work so far. The plan is to create and pick from the best when 12 or more are completed. (2) other revenue stream goals will be paintings in one or more of the following mediums: oil, watercolor or gouache. It’s been a while as my focus has been on Shibui Found Image Art. A pivot is a good thing as I write about Shibui. I am loving Paul Rembrandt pastels. The colors are amazing.

It’s been since 1994 that I have had fun with the pastels. I began Shibui 2011. A lot happened after that. I have my new home in my cottage studio and just now feel I am underway! A new easel awaits me! Varooooom! Or perhaps its “Let’s move it! Move it! Move it! More like that! I love claiming my Boho cottage studio!

Good Morning Sunshine! The Happiness of Tribe!

Tittle: Guardian of the Portal. By Pejj Nunes 2025

Topic: Finding one’s tribe. Finding one’s tribe is a journey that requires making connections with others. It’s about being open, about being all of who you are, and taking the risk to let others in. It’s worth the risk! It’s something that takes time, friendship. It’s tending a garden, where you say “I am going to plant roses here. You? What are you planting?” And that other person says, “I am planting irises! What color are your roses?” And you say, “White ones, they are called cottage roses, I can use the rose hips and petals. They smell so good! What color are your irises?” And you hear, “They are a tan-ish color with purple lower petals, they smell like nutmeg, my grandmother had them in her garden. I love them!”_______

And so, in time these two people realize they are a part of another type of garden. The Garden of Tribe. In time the garden becomes more like a park where others are trusted to become. A tribe is formed; it becomes. All are guardians of this beautiful exchange of becoming, “The Garden of Tribe!

Why have I used an image of a rooster, as I write about being a part of a tribe?

If you watch a rooster: A rooster protects the tribe. When in a tribe one feels comradery, and much like a rooster, become protective when it comes to the needs of that tribe, the tribe becomes a safe place with all the others in that particular tribe. Being a part of a tribe is something to be cherished. It’s special, a devoted place to be in the heart of others. It’s a portal out of what else we do during our day. It’s sacred time with friends.

Roosters represent courage, vigilance, awakening, protection. Roosters are found in folklore. If you observe them, they are seen defending their territory. They are understood to be messengers often seen as spirit guides. They are symbolic, roosters are alertness and courageous animals. They represent moral and spiritual awakening; they are a part of the zodiac symbology and are a part of both religion and folk traditions worldwide.

May love and laughter find you! Blessed be your day! Always! Pejj Nunes
