The world is a wonderful place! Yes! It is a crazy hot mess. But we have each other! And everyone has a connection to everyone else. We have a very important connection to the earth itself. What is it we all want? We all want life to be far better! It begins with each of us. We want good connections!

The thing about having good connections is understanding what those connections are about. Taking the time to think about this which ones are the most important kinds to have.

Some people will say, “friends! Family!” But our connections are broader that just friends and family. Anyone we see in some regular way is a connection. Connections are relationships, no matter how long they last in terms of minutes or years. Bits of who someone is becomes apparent. If we smile and simply say hi! We may have made a moment in someone’s day better. Being kind and opening a door for someone no matter who it is! That too is a brief connection. People need people. We respond to one another.

We can disassociate from others. But we all like similar basic things. We want what is safe, we want to meet the needs of ourselves and others especially family and friends. These days our hearts go much more broadly in this crazy world. Know that what you feel in your heart, and higher self reaches out through intention, prayers, to these others who are in such horrible circumstances. Having concern for others alone and wanting life to be different for them is doing something. Your sending love forward to others when you want life to be better for them. Love is a powerful gift to send. Don’t feel powerless when you have compassion in your heart. The greater consciousness will pass it forward! There are over 114 names for God. Joseph Campbell had gone to all the great theologians asking them about God. Was he within? They all said yes! God is within and with outside of ourselves, the one great consciousness which we are all a part of. All my life I have wondered about God, wrestle with the idea of God. I have come round to feeling consciousness and have come to the conclusion it is indeed a part of who I am, and that it is what connects us to one another and to earth. The important thing to know is that nothing exists without being conscious. The very effort to exist is done with becoming conscious. Think about the birth of a child____ then think of the birth of all other things! Animals, plants,___ we all become what we are, and it is a miraculous experience.

Yet, we get into our heads and stack up what we feel, what we should think, etc. And spend so much time in our heads rather than in our hearts. We justify rightness, we find reasons to dislike and hate. All those people who are in control of our world are not any different…. only that they have been given power over others. Their self-talk has led them down the path they are on. So far down the path to lives full of hatefulness. It doesn’t have to be that way. They are in their heads, believing all they do, making less of others because they are fearful of what they dare not know. Simply to be loved and allow it into their hearts.

We can’t make people change. But we can be strong example of what is good and loving, compassionate and kind.
