Well, I can’t resize the image smaller for some reason. would like it smaller, I began adding my photo to blogs because I love seeing the author I am reading thanks to the back book cover. I thought it would be nice to see who is writing the blog as well from time to time.
Some news! I have begun a new project, an art collaboration with two wonderful and interesting fellow artists. Alice M Edwards is a Canadian artist, and Julia Baker-Waite is from North Carolina. The collaboration’s focus is about our connection to the earth, and the role consciousness plays. The fact that the earth and all who live here; plants, trees, all t ype of animals, we humans___ would not exist without being nor having consciousness. This and we need to take care of this planet we call home. It needs our love, time and attention. We have destroyed a great deal of it! How to live here and to maintain and restore the earth is key to our survival. We can’t just keep using parts of it without taking actions. These actions should become jobs for people who live here.
Back to the project! My interests? I began thinking seriously about the world around me and how people respond it in high school. Teachers and students did a lot of discussion about life and world conditions then. Having those kinds of discussion’s seems lost. I hope I am wrong. We need to once more open up to what’s happening to the world, and to what’s happening to people. There us a great disconnect at this time. We have lost something important if we don’t wake up to what is needed at this time. It could destroy us if we don’t evolve. We need to blend and finesse. The future needs to become something more! We need to take care of the world so it can support us. We need to get back and reconnect to our planet. It won’t be overwhelming if we all play a part in healing the planet and healing the self.
By finding and having a new perspective, building on to a new focus you can heal. Finding and maintaining common goals we can work withing our communities which affect other communities, and so it will spread. I remember the “We are the world!” song. I think many of us took that to heart. The message it gave, the happiness felt. Well! We are the world and its time to remember that. So, the project is how all three of us can give back to the world we love and its people!
Artist are facilitators! We create art to talk about and record the world and its people around us. We see the beauty and the ugliness, to know what beauty is, and ugliness is important to what’s in-between. It’s knowing the difference between where balance is found. Beauty and ugliness have been defined so we know what these things are and can then consider them. We will always respond to what we sense. There is a choice here too of what we want most. Thoughts such as these intertwine with what I wish to convey. Symbolic imagery is likely to be a part of the outcome.
We are starting off with the goal of one year. How long we give ourselves depends on the time needed. There is a lot to do. The art, writing, the photography, pulling it all together in the form of a book and getting it out into the world! It’s a huge project. Regular meetings will be vital and we all have a role in the outcome of the project. Keeping the project on track is indeed vital to the outcome. Part of the plan is to blog about the project and to let you folks know who we are and where we are at with it. I encourage others to create their own projects that bring awareness, attention to the world at large. Humanity too needs our attention more than ever. People are dying and live under inhuman conditions. The world, its people are hurting badly now. We all need safe homes; we need to meet the needs of daily life! Love and kindness are the answer and we need to begin with ourselves. Self talk___ taking charge of our own thinking___ realizing that we dont need to grab onto all thoughts that come our way where it becomes the word game, where we are triggered by our senses and by our emotional selves. We can take the time to realize and change the subject on ourselves, so we are positive towards life and others. Really awful things happen in life and such things eat at the core of the soul, they hurt, and we feel we can never get past the anger and hurt. We can not fully live if we don’t get past the hurt and anger. Hurt and anger create more hurt and anger. The hard thing is to stop feeling it so deeply. How? How can we stop this. We can only find ways to make life better so more of it will stop. We learn from it. We know the ugly and want to find the beauty that is there! We want the connections that bind us and ground us, so we do not feel hopeless. We want life to be worth living! And what we want for ourselves, we need to want it for others or the ugly takes over. Consciousness becomes something else! There is no evolution for humanity without conscious living! We need to connect to this planet it is what sustains all of us!
I am excited to have my studio back in the form of a new home. This is what is what was badly needed. A space that works for me.
Best wishes! Pejj Nunes
