Barkley! A character in one of my children’s book projects. He is just a tiny fellow who’s home gets sweep somewhere each spring, sometimes it’s quite precarious. But he has an unlikely friend named Timberlake who lives in a huge tree. Timberlake is a Koala Bear, and not in the country of origin where Eucalyptus trees grow, yet magic has them grow from the side of his giant oak tree via magic. The rooms inside change according to his needs. He invites Barkley to come and stay with him. Barkley is from a Shibui Found Image Art foundation.

May love and laughter find you! Coffee is at the ready! It’s a sunny day! Sunday! All day long! The day of rest it has been called. Not always true, but it should be. At least one should be doing fun things and not housework all day. Often what we do these days. It is a matter of what’s most important and to mix it up, I think.

This image is darker than it is in real life. These too are characters froim that same story. Miss Fancy is the pink elephant like creature, Miss Tillie is the beetle, and Ella is the grey and pink bird with long legs. Timberlake has a coat on. The mice in the story run the post office and carry the mail. Ruby Luna is a hummingbird like Griffyn in the story. The characters have been recreated evolving into new selves. It is interesting to write children’s books as the characters tend to talk to you.

I can’t wait to return to this story. I think in the end it will be several. But for now, it is the manual about Shibui! Back to my research and writing! LOL
