Revenue stream goals for 2024: (1) The creation of 12 pastel still life’s. Below is one example of my work so far. The plan is to create and pick from the best when 12 or more are completed. (2) other revenue stream goals will be paintings in one or more of the following mediums: oil, watercolor or gouache. It’s been a while as my focus has been on Shibui Found Image Art. A pivot is a good thing as I write about Shibui. I am loving Paul Rembrandt pastels. The colors are amazing.

It’s been since 1994 that I have had fun with the pastels. I began Shibui 2011. A lot happened after that. I have my new home in my cottage studio and just now feel I am underway! A new easel awaits me! Varooooom! Or perhaps its “Let’s move it! Move it! Move it! More like that! I love claiming my Boho cottage studio!

Good Morning Sunshine!

Sunday Morning! And time for coffee! No sunshine as yet! But there is a cardinal at the feeder! Yesterday he brought his brown lady! I think he is back to be a regular!

One of my dear friends Alice and I have created a book club! Where we will listen to Agatha Christie An Elusive Woman by Lucy Worsley. Once done my blog I will listen to the audible book for an hour, make notes on things that catch my ear and wait for our meeting at 1:00. Christie has caught my attention. I was listening to another audible book about her now I seem to have lost it in my library. Books get pushed down as you look for other books. It’s a matter of finding it.

I think of what I know about the Victorian times and the lives of women. That some were able to break past the norm of the day. Christie did by becoming a writer. It matters that there is the right kind of support no matter what time frame you live in. But to succeed!

I think of what it takes to write and do art. How being consistent matters, perseverance, determination. The need to court others to come on board with your end result. Time is of the most important, and what you do within the day. Yet there are the things of daily life which must be done as well. Clean clothes, food, enjoying family____ Get out into the world! And then return to the projects. Focus and move forward. Know that it will end, and that the avalanches of one’s efforts will come together. The morning rituals start each day. I imagine what life was like for Christie. She would have kept several journals going at one time. I wonder if she went through not liking her handwriting as I do. I have returned to writing with a pencil where I can fix mistakes, and I seem to write better. Of course, I love to use gridded paper which keeps things way neater. Then I don’t get caught up in not liking my own handwriting. The more you write the neater and more constant the writing is. With the right pen, a quill or fountain pen___ pen pal letters don’t looks bad at all after all the practice. I discovered too if I lay the pencil between the index and middle finger, I write much better than hold the pencil in the normal fashion. I think it has to do with the shortness of one’s fingers. I can write with either hand as I am ambidextrous. But am trained to use the right. The left is a bit loopier. Yes, loopier is a word. LOL!

I greet the day and await the morning sun rise into the sky, disappointed when it does not come, although it always does. The world has been bathed in another way, it dries itself off, and new life comes, things become greener. And then the cycle begins. Spring is here! We are through March and now April! April Fool’s Day! Nearly here! April showers bring May flowers! The summer____. I saw buds in the treetops already. I need a table on my deck and chairs to sit out here with a hot cup of coffee or tea. An umbrella for a degree of shade.

Well on with the day! Best wishes! May you have love and laughter fill your day! I wonder what each of you do to begin your day.
