Not my work. The signature is one the painting. I found this and thought how beautifully mastered it is. I can walk into it and feel the warmth of the morning sun; it’s just beginning to warm the day. The morning mist will fade away by 10:00 a.m. A man has work to do, and he is taking the time to enjoy the morning for just a bit. Perhaps his wife is inside clearing away their morning breakfast of coffee, eggs, bacon, and toast. Maybe she will join him after. Maybe she will bring a thermos and lunch to him to take with him when he goes. It’s nice to have a familiar story spring out of a painting. I always wonder what others find as their familiar story.
I look out onto a small deck and see the forest each day. Birds come down to eat the seeded suet I put out. I will get more seed and put it out at some point. I wish to get bird seed hangers that squirrels not get into. They can have apples, sunflowers and peanuts instead. Although some seem to like bits of toast. Which I give but wonder if it is good for them.
My cold coffee is at the ready. I like brewing it this way, a jar in the fridge. It has a good flavor. And is always ready if I get up a bit later, I don’t have to wait for it to brew. This said, I never mind waiting for a good cup of hot coffee. It’s only that I want it now. LOL. Even though it’s not long in the making.
Today will be a great day for writing I feel. I am in one of those writing grooves where the words come, even though the topic is a bit challenging to have it be right. I think I have moved past “the point” so I understand how to work it now. The topic is the field event theory and how Shibui Found Image Art uses this theory. The differences Shibui has need to be broken down, and comparisons made. There is much more to painting and drawing than just “doing it” if your goal is to have a well mastered image. If you wish to talk about art, the creative process, techniques____, it helps to know what these things are. It’s good to know how things are created to truly appreciate them. I had been an artist a long time, then I went to art school where I learned a lot about art I did not know. I am very glad I did have that chance as it broaden my understanding greatly. Today the internet allows us this same information a art education affords. We can continue to learn about art through this means and through books. I have come to feel, I know so little and there is so much more to know. I want to be a sponge! The only answer is to focus on one love at a time. Time for writing, time for art. Time also for family.
I learned from Catherine Orer, from, The Artist Entrepeneur Network. Which she is not running now, but she is doing pod cast about the business of being an Art Entrepeneur. I learned how to balance taking care of me, having family and being the artist who can sell her work. For me this has meant writing as well the putting the writing and art together so I can sell the art I have put so much time into developing. Yes! You can find time, and things will avalanche into “doneness.” Once you learn to plan your studio time and balance it with the other things you do, and especially taking care of yourself____ you will see how to make it all work. Artists need to understand the business end of art. Creating great art is only part of it.
Best wishes! Pejj Nunes
