Revenue stream goals for 2024: (1) The creation of 12 pastel still life’s. Below is one example of my work so far. The plan is to create and pick from the best when 12 or more are completed. (2) other revenue stream goals will be paintings in one or more of the following mediums: oil, watercolor or gouache. It’s been a while as my focus has been on Shibui Found Image Art. A pivot is a good thing as I write about Shibui. I am loving Paul Rembrandt pastels. The colors are amazing.

It’s been since 1994 that I have had fun with the pastels. I began Shibui 2011. A lot happened after that. I have my new home in my cottage studio and just now feel I am underway! A new easel awaits me! Varooooom! Or perhaps its “Let’s move it! Move it! Move it! More like that! I love claiming my Boho cottage studio!

Good Morning Sunshine!

Summer fun! Spring is edging closer.

The sun is out for several days to come! I slept in after all it is Saturday. Saturday all day long! SO, Grammie would say.

I shall finish an oil pastel painting today and prepare for another moving to chalk pastels. That will make four to put under glassine. This was a fun last summer.

“We learn so many good things from great souls, not always by what they talk about, but by their silence. There is often a more meaningful communication of understanding and trustworthiness in silence than conversation. There would be much less clamor if we could just stop talking soon enough. The plight of the human being is that he creates a mountain of disturbances and then tries to climb over it. We seem to think nothing is working well for us unless we can see it, and to make up for what we cannot see, we talk about it until we create problems where none existed. When time is all spent talking there is no time for listening, and without new ideas talk is cheap.”

” Robert Louis Stevenson said, “You start a question and it’s like starting a stone from the top of a hill; away the stone goes, starting others. And so, it is with talking, the first idle remark may foster others until the words all run downhill and cease to have meaning. Getting back to the silence that is golden is to start back up the hill.” Page 95. I like to simply open the book To Everything There Is A Season by Joyce Hifler to see what it is there and how it might apply to the times we live in. This is what the book gave me today. Interesting train of thought.

Best wishes! Pejj Nunes
