Revenue stream goals for 2024: (1) The creation of 12 pastel still life’s. Below is one example of my work so far. The plan is to create and pick from the best when 12 or more are completed. (2) other revenue stream goals will be paintings in one or more of the following mediums: oil, watercolor or gouache. It’s been a while as my focus has been on Shibui Found Image Art. A pivot is a good thing as I write about Shibui. I am loving Paul Rembrandt pastels. The colors are amazing.

It’s been since 1994 that I have had fun with the pastels. I began Shibui 2011. A lot happened after that. I have my new home in my cottage studio and just now feel I am underway! A new easel awaits me! Varooooom! Or perhaps its “Let’s move it! Move it! Move it! More like that! I love claiming my Boho cottage studio!

Good Morning Sunshine!

The Shibui Found Image Art Manuel is coming along nicely. My research is paying off. There are six completed sections at this time. It takes time to pull things together. I am at last beginning to focus on the manual and not everything else I do. Life is starting to have a rhythm to it. I am feeling home. It still feels odd not to have Thomas, only in spirit and memory. Now life is full of my grandchildren as they come in and out or I go over next door. I love that too.

I feel the intro of the manual works much better at this point. Somehow, it’s like magic when you don’t touch your writing and then return, and it seems to work much better like somehow something has gelled with it.

One of the tops is about the difference between art and design. It also how Shibui is different than creating traditional art. Sorting these out was necessary for the manual. Shibui does not begin with my drawing the understructure, the understructure is imagined due to action art.

The action art is there first and then what’s there becomes what it becomes. Shibui Found Image Art began in 2011. Five years in I began to understand my process. I love teaching it to others, and to learn what they do with their foundations. Once the manual is completed, I will teach Shibui online.

Back to my quiet, back to the writing mode. Kids are on the bus. I love sending them on their way with “I love you! Have a good day!” In return I get “I love you too!” from Emma, and a nod and a smile from Ollie. Its a great way to start the day. We chit chat or I might sing parts of songs like Good Morning Sunshine to them. Perhaps. I went to the animal fair. When they were still in diapers, I babysat them as Mom was doing classes for her LPN. One on each side in the middle of the bed, pinned down by them, I would sing full songs or parts of songs to them until they feel asleep. Like Down in The Valley a favorite, and it seems to make them sleepy even now. Songs like Roses are red, LOVE, Put your little foot down, Hi Lilly hi low, the house of the rising sun, Scarlet Ribbons for her hair, some Christmas songs like O’Christmas Tree. The Little Blue Man, The Doggy in the Window. I would also play different types of music for them. Emma began dancing about 2 1/2 she would plan her dances. So I began to watch ballet with her. There are 16 plus ways to watch the Nutcracker or to read it. We have done them all! Gizelle, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The wind in the willows, musicals___ I listen to Audible stories when Ollie comes to visit, and music as he loves Music. No matter what he is doing such as gaming on the laptop he is listening. I know this as he will sing songs immediately as they are introduced to him. Some he knows. Last night it was Vietnam War Songs on Spotify. A lot of great songs, many thought provoking. I listen to classical music as well, R&B, Blues, a lot of Saxaphone music and documentaries about different musicians. All to peek their interest. Its about influencing them. I love physics and other sciences, I listen to these too. I give them books as well. Emma has been the one to read although recently Ollie has asked to go to the library. I told them we should go and sign up at our local, they were interested in this.

Best wishes! On with the day!

Best wishes! Pejj
