Revenue stream goals for 2024: (1) The creation of 12 pastel still life’s. Below is one example of my work so far. The plan is to create and pick from the best when 12 or more are completed. (2) other revenue stream goals will be paintings in one or more of the following mediums: oil, watercolor or gouache. It’s been a while as my focus has been on Shibui Found Image Art. A pivot is a good thing as I write about Shibui. I am loving Paul Rembrandt pastels. The colors are amazing.

It’s been since 1994 that I have had fun with the pastels. I began Shibui 2011. A lot happened after that. I have my new home in my cottage studio and just now feel I am underway! A new easel awaits me! Varooooom! Or perhaps its “Let’s move it! Move it! Move it! More like that! I love claiming my Boho cottage studio!

Good Morning Sunshine! Back from Vacation!

Very pleased with myself for setting up camp. We all had fun, and relaxed. The grand kids learned more about swimming and having a lake experience over having a pool. Emma learned about diving deeper, and Ollie use more power to swim under the surface. They did lots of jumping in deeper and then bouncing off the bottom.

Both Jacobie and I enjoyed Clairissa, Mike and granddaughter Karleigh coming down. It gets too long in between seeing my daughter Clairissa and her family. Karleigh is off to college! I rented the camp so it would be close for friends and family to come to.

Learned more about what it is to be gluten free. Mike and K cannot tolerate gluten as it makes them very sick. It was great to see how healthy Mike is, and not in pain from eating. It is encouraging both Jacobie and me to look at using gluten in our lives as well.

Today will be a day to settle in by putting things away, laundry and reading for research, and listening to cello music. At least at this time. Check the budget. Getting back to the routine of things and over the next two weeks help prepare for kids and school!

The book I am reading for research is titled 7 1/2 Lessons about the brain by Lisa Feldman Barrett, she is the author of How emotions are made also. The research I can gain will be up to date information about how the mind works in comparison to old theories that are still applied. Its not that a lot of information will be used, just what may be applicable when writing about the creative process itself. Notable things help others understand when they do art, the become a tool just as any brush or pen. Our actions are unique to us despite numerous commonalities. Science gives us what it has come to understand through developments in science, resulting in labels and definitions regarding the brain, mind and body. How we move, and process thought is a part of the creative process itself. How art heals the body is fascinating and intricate system. This is my interest, and I wonder what more can be learned from what triggers the mind. I think allowing ourselves to feel using all the senses as we develop our creative processes which are messages sent to the brain; where the mind predicts what we want is key to the healing of the body. What can the mind/body do if we approach the thought process with awareness?
