Life As It Is
Life is too fast and too slow. But here we are!
This fact comes to mind more when we are older.
Life began, its ages and stages cycling forward.
Infanthood, childhood, tweens, teens, and then adulthood.
And there we are! We are left with “still, how little we know.”
We marry, we divorce, we may remarry, we become ill and get better.
Or we don’t; we get better and die, leaving others physically behind.
Not knowing what’s next. Believing we can go on to something beautiful.
We learn when we listen and feel. Sometimes slowly, often still confused.
Experience comes with age, and aging teaches what we need to know.
Experience brings change. Not all thoughts are keepers.
The mind predicts from all over the place; ___Those experiences had.
Our trues realities. They, the best we feel, are steadfast in our reality.
And there we are! Again, we are doing our very best. We can’t know it all.
Without consciousness, there is no life or a chance to grow and become.
It is not all bad, nor good, but coming into finding the balance key___
It’s vital to getting there. For without balance, we topple over.
In the end, we are accountable for our words and actions.
Did we live well enough? Did we master something we desired?
Did we love well? What realizations did we conclude? Did we change up?
Have compassion, sympathy, empathy. Were we cruel or kind? What did we not understand? Did we learn what matters most is the ones we love? Did we reach out to others knowing they needed the same things we do?
Did we_____?
