I am including a bit about one type of Shibui. Its a little fuzzy but will work to show you how a foundation is worked. All foundations are different. And there is a lot more to be learned about Shibui as it is not traditional art. I am it’s developer. And I teach it. Currently I am not on line as I am writing the manual for my instructors, and for art therapist to use Shibui, or if someone wishes to do it as an original art form. Shibui is a problem-solving art. If you are interested in learning about Shibui you can contact me through this blog by leaving me a message.

A Shibui starts like this. The bubbles are intentional. The plants are runs of wet medium, watercolor. This is not done. Signing is something you fit in, so that it looks nice. Your horizon line is created. When things lean towards the left or right, such as the clump of plants, you round them out. Fine black micron pens, 005 and 05 help establish the edges of the shapes that become forms. The goal is to go from 2D to 3D, have the illusion of depth perspective. A horizon line.

This is a simple Shibui.

Gina Labrecgue is the Shibuiest who created this. You can see Gina’s logo. I am sorry but it seems I cannot get own name off these images from my FASO website.

One of my Shibui.

Another designed Shibui by me.
I will show you other Shibuiest work, in another blog. For now have a great day! Best wishes! Pejj Nunes
