Revenue stream goals for 2024: (1) The creation of 12 pastel still life’s. Below is one example of my work so far. The plan is to create and pick from the best when 12 or more are completed. (2) other revenue stream goals will be paintings in one or more of the following mediums: oil, watercolor or gouache. It’s been a while as my focus has been on Shibui Found Image Art. A pivot is a good thing as I write about Shibui. I am loving Paul Rembrandt pastels. The colors are amazing.

It’s been since 1994 that I have had fun with the pastels. I began Shibui 2011. A lot happened after that. I have my new home in my cottage studio and just now feel I am underway! A new easel awaits me! Varooooom! Or perhaps its “Let’s move it! Move it! Move it! More like that! I love claiming my Boho cottage studio!

Good Morning Sunshine!

A wet Morning, cooler. I have my quiet. I slept in. Saturday all day long! I will see how far I get today. I had a lot of success yesterday with removing things from my bedroom into a closet, going through “it” and throwing more away is a good thing to accomplish. I found things for the studio as well. More floor space makes you feel good! Finding space to put clothes away in is good as well. This cottage is small, and making space work is important. So, I will keep making sense of it.

Thoughts for today: From Pathways by Joyce Hifler. “As Browning put it, “You must mix some uncertainty with faith, if you would have faith be.” We want so much to know something sure. We want desperately to look at something and say, “Now, this is a fact, this is for real, I don’t have doubt.” And then only moments later it is difficult to believe in anything. It may be that our problem lies in the fact that we put our faith in what we can see when we have been told to look beyond appearances. But if the uncertainty makes us search, at least it keeps us moving and alive. It keeps us questioning, and when we question, we find answers that cause us to renew our faith.” I wonder if other people still seek out such writers. Hifler gives much food for thought in her books. I was introduced to her some time ago now by a book given to me by my grandmother. “To everything, there is a Season” was the title. And indeed, there is much truth in that book too. WE NEED UP LIFTING THOUGHTS WE CAN TURN INTO THE ACTIONS OF OUR LIVES. WE NEED HOPE AND FAITH, WE NEED TO CREATE CHANGE, SUCH THINGS CHANGE THINGS UP! We need to begin with ourselves, and not focus on the learning curve of others, that is their job to do, as we can by changing our focus to us. I am a firm believer that I am the only one who can do something about me. Do I live life perfectly, no but I do keep working at it and I avoid the word “try” as it really doesn’t have much weight. To say I will try is something that we say too often and do nothing about that promise. I will do this one thing, then I will do another, and another. I will find what part of things I can do, and I will feel good because I took action. This is me now, taking care of me. There is no Thomas, my partner, my friend, my lover. I want my independence and not be seen as old before I am truly old. I still want to carve out the rest of my life. That will keep me young minded no matter what my outer shell looks like or becomes. I have no time to wonder about this aging process. It will happen, I am sure. I want to live life! So much of life is not lived well. I will work at the crafts I love, writing and art. I will continue to do things to help others through the use of writing and art. These are my compulsions. And so on with the day.

Best wishes! Pejj Nunes
