Revenue stream goals for 2024: (1) The creation of 12 pastel still life’s. Below is one example of my work so far. The plan is to create and pick from the best when 12 or more are completed. (2) other revenue stream goals will be paintings in one or more of the following mediums: oil, watercolor or gouache. It’s been a while as my focus has been on Shibui Found Image Art. A pivot is a good thing as I write about Shibui. I am loving Paul Rembrandt pastels. The colors are amazing.

It’s been since 1994 that I have had fun with the pastels. I began Shibui 2011. A lot happened after that. I have my new home in my cottage studio and just now feel I am underway! A new easel awaits me! Varooooom! Or perhaps its “Let’s move it! Move it! Move it! More like that! I love claiming my Boho cottage studio!

Today it’s coming back to writing the manual. I began this process yesterday after signing into Grammarly. I like the way the program is simple and catches things for me. I do not rely on it to convey all things however. It tends to surprise me whenever I begin writing the instruction manual for Shibui Found Image Art, it becomes improved. It has helped improve my thoughts about writing about Shibui to read about and to creating traditional art again. The result is that I can compare the two processes better.

I began Shibui in 2011, and it took me about five years to have consistent verbiage with which to explain Shibui’s techniques. The first realization after the five years was that I was using the field event theory taught by one of my professors Philip Carlos Paratore in his art theory class. The theory had been eternalized. Realizing this was how to explain what is seen was the first step to writing better about Shibui. The next realization was that Shibui is Pareidolia. Artist have used Pareidolia before, it has an old history of use. For me it was how I saw the world around me as a child, an easy leap into that kind of creativeness. It’s been a challenge to figure out how to explain it so others can understand it. But I have. The next step is to publish it so others can use it.

Best wishes! Pejj
