Metamorphosis! It’s amazing what happens when you finally understand how to look at what you wish to paint, and paint well. A very good friend and fellow Canadian artist Alice Edwards helped me a great deal with understanding what I wasn’t getting right. Deeply appreciate her efforts. She’s not feeling tge best. She creates wonderful oil paintings. I am honored to learn from her. I am being reminded of things I have not done for some time, 1994. My senior show had mostly been chalk pastels.
I had learned not to over think and concern myself with the idea of these are not good….thoughts like that. I felt if I can keep doing these, it will come to me. Alice is making things jump forward.
What I am painting is different now, it’s not abstract. It’s still life’s.
Materials are different thus time too. I am loving Paul Rembrandt soft pastels and sanded pastel board, and paper. Still life’s are a great way to move forward I feel.
so don’t let things stop you, or even stall you. Thr sticking with it, is what will get you there.
Best wishes! Pejj
