This is unfinished, the under painting for a pastel painting. I really like it. I see a cement wall with viney plants cascading down. Water, reflection. Perhaps a figure at the top of the cement wall. The wah was done with a fan brush. It makes me think of battlements in Portland Maine. A lighthouse could be placed on the land mass on the horizon.
Coffee is at the right, nearly gone. The daily journal in front of me. Edgar Paynes book on composition is before me as well. A chapter at a time to mull over.
I have a chalk pastel on my table to work. And this particular one.
Ah! The squirrel…. I bought peanuts for him and have put them on the ground for him to find before he hits my deck where the birds feed. The new bird seed has shelled nuts, berries and sunflowers. Shelling peanuts is rough on a pastelist already well used finger tips.

Elliot it turns our is an escape artist. He gets out of the cage, and seems to be ok out. He is potty trained. He is not 6 months yet, will be a big boy! As a giant angora bunny.

Elliot belongs to my daughter and his family. He and two tabby cats, Fruitloop and Stormy. Best wishes! Pejj
