Title: The Race Is On!

The Race certainly is on! It is! Isn’t it! Life can feel very busy!

For the last two days I am having fun using pastels pencils to create images of the birds that come to my deck. Quite a crowd. I have been taking photos and found several photos I liked. They have inspired me to create a series of the bird images. They will also help me build a children’s book portfolio. The first four will be a mourning dove, crow, blue jay and cardinal.

I did not realize how long it has been since I have done other forms of art other than Shibui. It feels good. Hanging them makes me feel great!

Now my day has a rhythm to it is working to write in the morning and then do the birds in the evening. I have taken two days off from writing and will get back into it on Monday. Six and a half hours this week, but 45 hours last week.

In the past working three different revenue streams worked well. Artist can feel that it’s all about creating art. That’s not all there is to it. Giving the mind a break helps.

I also enjoy creating abstract works.
