Spring is coming! LOL! In a couple more months, that is!
In the meantime? A time of personal growth and work. Contemplations begin the day.
Coffee at the right! In a cup from Easter, there are eggs all over it! A gift from Grandchildren.
“A belief in a power greater than human strength has often been call an opiate to calm our shattered nerves ____but whatever it is called, it doesn’t change the fact it works better than a pill___. “
“If we are afraid of something, it has a lot better chance of getting to us____ because fear is the chink in our armor through which trouble can reach us.” From Pathways, Joyce Hifler.
It doesn’t feel good to be afraid of something. Sometimes we can’t seem to pinpoint what we are afraid of. It takes effort to discover fear. Blocking fear is not the answer, however. Facing it is the only way to learn what it is, and then we learn we can handle it after all. Sometimes it’s not even something to fear, it’s just we don’t want to deal with it just now, the fear is that it will grow and become too big to a point where it may just explode. The only way to get rid of what we fear is to deal with it as it comes up, setting it aside if we need to but not forever!
I learned the older I get, that there is less anxiety if I nip my fears in the bud, and do not spend too much time in thinking nor avoiding them. One fear of getting older is the fear of a loss of independence. Independence is important to all of us. I want my independence as long as I can have it. I have decided to not over think not having it. To live life, and I hope later when I am much older that I can accept the help I need, because I won’t be able to do somethings. It will mean trusting in someone else. It will mean not being fearful and admitting to being afraid, I think. Being older is moving into fall then winter, and rebirth.
Best wishes! Pejj Nunes
