From Muddy Brook Studio 1/15/2024

Today I slept in, getting up around, 11:00 am. I would rather get up, when you stay up late, well there you are.
Now I have returned to the cottage from being at my daughters, settling into my evening. While at Jacobie’s I watched “She Came to Me” I like the actor, Peter Dinklage. The movie is still settling in mind. Not sure how I feel about it.
The movies I love are the well-made stories such as The Lord of The Rings, Outlander, and The Game of Thrones. Better yet the books are best in my mind.
I go digging for older movies, and older books. Like Lady Chatterley’s Lover, The Name of The Rose.
I can’t say I like Fountainhead. I could not get past the first few pages. Although it is well known.
More to my point is that these books or older movies need to be appreciated for when they were created as well as what they have to convey. This is the case for any good book.
Such is the case for older books such as R.F. Deerfield’s books. Deerfield’s books are dramatic, some have been turned into movies or tv series. PBS broadcasted To Serve Them All My Days for some time. I discovered the books through my grandmother and loved them as a teenager. I inhaled books. I was also fortunate to have had a literature class in high school. Not the norm. A Horseman Riding by, Diana, The Avenue, God Is an Englishman, Theirs Is the Kingdom, The Adventures of Peter Gunn, The Avenue Goes to War, Long Summer Days, The Dreaming Suburb, Give Us These Days, The Green Gauntlet, Post of Honor, Come Home Charlie and Face Them, Too Few for Drums, The Spring Madness of Mr. Sermon, Seven Men of Gascony. There are more books. What I loved was how he got into his very human characters. You came away caring about them and identifying with them.
Well! and LOL. That came from somewhere inside! Best wishes! Pejj
