Revenue stream goals for 2024: (1) The creation of 12 pastel still life’s. Below is one example of my work so far. The plan is to create and pick from the best when 12 or more are completed. (2) other revenue stream goals will be paintings in one or more of the following mediums: oil, watercolor or gouache. It’s been a while as my focus has been on Shibui Found Image Art. A pivot is a good thing as I write about Shibui. I am loving Paul Rembrandt pastels. The colors are amazing.

It’s been since 1994 that I have had fun with the pastels. I began Shibui 2011. A lot happened after that. I have my new home in my cottage studio and just now feel I am underway! A new easel awaits me! Varooooom! Or perhaps its “Let’s move it! Move it! Move it! More like that! I love claiming my Boho cottage studio!

Good Morning Sunshine!

Been working to set up my Fine Arts Studio Online in this new to me desktop computer. I dread doing new set ups but once they are done____. And to get images I use from my FASO website it’s a must to get the website onto the computer, right? Mission accomplished!

Better yet I can write about Shibui. And its creative processes. I love creating Shibui. I came across the word Shibui while reading a book by May Sarton. She describes the mantle over her fireplace, and notes that the scene is one of shibui, which is a Japanese word. Then she writes the description of what this area looks like. It struck me that what she described felt akin to what I was doing as an art form. When looking up the word you quickly learn it means many different things and has many different applications. I learned it could mean cool. That a room can be Shibui, and so can’t the clothes we wear.

In fact, I make use of my images in other ways. Such as in the writing of a children’s book project. The pink elephant/rhino character is one example of a character in my children’s book project. They tend to come to life when put on the walls. You could say they talk to me! LOL

This is Miss Fancy! Her flowers emit green sleeping gas. Oh, for such a power as this! LOL

Shibui is a tool for new ideas. There are many other characters who have come to life. This is fun! But it means not spreading myself too thin that I don’t have focus on what should happen first as creative projects.

The world’s populations needs to be reminded of many things, especially now. That life can be good, that morals and ethics matter, that there is hope, and we must be the ones to affect change. So, How? My thought is by finding out just how I can impact the world according to me. I can do it through my art and writing, this is not a new idea. Think of the forms of art you have become aware of through books, museums, classes, education. Our history has been recorded through art and writing. We evolve personally and so does art. Change is constant. If we get busy with new ideas change can happen. Examine old ideas. It is all right there.

Things that become too big fall over, and we start again so we survive. Rather than feel helpless think what part I can do. What do I know about? I can’t help but think on these things.

Best wishes! Pejj
