Revenue stream goals for 2024: (1) The creation of 12 pastel still life’s. Below is one example of my work so far. The plan is to create and pick from the best when 12 or more are completed. (2) other revenue stream goals will be paintings in one or more of the following mediums: oil, watercolor or gouache. It’s been a while as my focus has been on Shibui Found Image Art. A pivot is a good thing as I write about Shibui. I am loving Paul Rembrandt pastels. The colors are amazing.

It’s been since 1994 that I have had fun with the pastels. I began Shibui 2011. A lot happened after that. I have my new home in my cottage studio and just now feel I am underway! A new easel awaits me! Varooooom! Or perhaps its “Let’s move it! Move it! Move it! More like that! I love claiming my Boho cottage studio!

Good Morning Sunshine!

It’s still bright but overcast here in Rhode Island. There is a Nor Easter coming our way! The first snow! And well, deep enough snow for children to have fun in!

Coffee at the right! Time to ponder what this day can become. Hmmm…a Saturday. Classical music is in the background. I can settle into working on my Shibui.

Shibui begins with action art and then becomes found image art. I get to be a child again problem solving what I can imagine! Shibui is like a puzzle. It all the random chaos there are commonalities which become something either abstract or the illusion of realism.

As an artist I do other forms of art. I am a printmaker and this I plan on doing. There will be a second studio, and crafting area to work in. I look forward to teaching my grandchildren art such as printmaking.

I also plan to pull canvas for oil painting. Something I have not done for years. And I will obtain a new camera in the future. Meanwhile I will learn how to use procreate on my iPad. There are four of us who make up a group in which to learn how to do digital art on the iPad. Digital art is different than the traditional creative process. But if I am to learn how to create digital Shibui___ Here I am. I know it can be done. I ran a Shibui group on Facebook where others learn and applied the methods for the Shibui foundations. This was very interesting! I learned a lot about what others could do. Yet, there came a time to pivot when I moved. I found I need to think about how to proceed. The business end of art a priority. Planning revenue streams in the works. I needed a working studio. And so, I now have one, a new desk top computer allows me to return to writing Good Morning Sunshine as well as other writing projects. I flip into writing as a mental break from art and the research I need to write an instruction manual. New slide shows of new Shibui will be needed if I am to teach Shibui live. The studio is not set up with light, webcam, a microphone. This will come later.

I need to find the local art community, and ho-nob with people too! I do not know anyone as yet and the community does not know about me. It takes time to settle in, and like other things likely this too will avalanche forward once I step forward into this new territory. An adventure!

Best wishes! May your day be sunny and bright even if there is no sun! Fine hope in your day it is there!
