Consciousness and The Creative Process. And a bit about who I am.
In 2011 I began the process of creating an art form I call Shibui Found Image art, developing its conception so that it can be used as a foundation for an original art form, while I continue to develop it as an art therapy tool and sell original works.
In addition, my goals for Shibui I have always wanted to help many people through the use of my art and writing. An ambitious goal, but if you put it out there, other people jump on board. There are other people who are willing to share and help, they will tell you what you need to know.
The process is “courting others” and learning your way forward to make things happen. You sell your idea rather than covet them or in other words hide them away…. Nothing happens if don’t you do these steps! We need others to know about us and what we do! Squeaky wheel gets the grease! learning to court others using good interpersonal communication is vital.
As an art instructor and a developer, I want those I teach and fellow artist to understand that art is business. That what you put into your business-related art; your efforts will pay off. However, this requires your own hard work! Don’t fall into the trap of being just an artist, become a businessperson. It means organizing your time for the office work or writing, and the studio. Creating what you love, and selling it go hand in hand. Know what you need, delegate what you want and need, take charge of your creative experience. What happens is things avalanche if your persistent ___constant and begin an end the parts of the whole.
I still have to do those everyday things to do in the mix! Each day I have to put be consistent with my goals. Some days it’s one thing I make happen and other days more!
Learn how to create your revenue streams. Six years with a business coach taught me a lot. This experience too is a part of the creative processes. It needs to be a part of the manual.
The results of developing Shibui found me teaching it an having the need to write an instruction manual. The manual will help me sell my art as well as other people. I hope to go love sometime in 2024. I need to set up my new studio with webcam and lights. How to in a cottage? Tricky!
I began to court facilities who use art therapy so I would know there was interest in Shibui Found Image Art. I was successful with this endeavor. I found support and interest in my endeavor. However, until the book is published in the near future____.
Further encouragement is the fact Shibui is working to help others with their health, an as a business! Success regarding one of those I have instructed in Shibui is Master Shibui Instructor Julia Baker Waite of Franklinville, NC has her own brand of Shibui called Myuki Shibui. Julia is a graduate of Bryant & Straton College and is owner of JEBW studio. Julia is also a writer and author having used her brand of Shibui on the cover of a book she has publish, a journal being sold currently on Amazon.
It has required a great deal of research to develop this particular art form. As a part of the process I found myself with a need to explain its process. I need to understand how it would work as an art therapy tool I needed to teach others and learn how they would respond to it. What could Shibui Found Image Art do. I concluded that Shibui begins with action art, and then becomes found image art. The process is one of problem solving. Me being me! I wanted to understand how this worked as an art therapy. How did my mind work during the creative process? How about other artist? Was this not what art therapy should know? Had anyone asked these same questions? What about the study of the minds processes, cognition? Consciousness? How did the brain work? I needed to know these things so I could have an effective tool. How it would help others mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritual. Creating art does all of these things. But how? This became my burning question! I found that the information I want, and my questions are answered up to a point. That the use of art itself and how the brain works has a lot of mysteries to solve yet. But I can bank on Shibui helping others, so I will continue to tell about it, and to develop it. Teach others and learn from them. Shibui like other art forms borrows and becomes. It uses the same materials others use. I found art theories that apply and can help with teaching the techniques.
For the first five years I turned to current known applicable art techniques, and my education in art, and my interests in psychology, interpersonal communication, philosophy and physics to see if anything there applied. Later I would make connections to neurobiology and therefore how the mind works during the creative process. This has meant developing theories regarding Shibui Found Image Art. It requires finding the best possible answers and understanding the research. A slow process when dealing with your life circumstances.
Current research is about “Unified qualia, a term that describes “the idea that consciousness is a unified experience, rather than a collection of individual experiences. It is the idea that all of our experiences are part of a single, unified whole . In other words, it is the idea that all of our experiences are connected and that they are all part of the same thing.” It remains about consciousness and the creative processes.
IF YOU HAVE GOOD SUPPORTIVE INFORMATION ABOUT THESE TOPICS DO TELL ME, SO I CAN IN CLUDE THEM.
Best wishes! Pejj Nunes 1/4/2024
