Coffee will be ready on the right in the morning! I will have fed the birds which now come to my little deck. Later in the day ___it is late night now. I write another blog and will not watch them land, scoop seed and take off somewhere nearby. Its nearby as their return rate is very quick! They do this all day long depending on me to keep the seed coming. I add nuts and berries too. I am so please to have the blog set up again!
My organic coffee is made in a stainless-steel carafe. I grind my beans, and measure out three scoops, and pour the boiling water in. Stir and put the plunger in but do not push it down. Wait for a few minutes, plunge and pour! This is one treat I give myself, after all it is just me here unless Jacobie my daughter comes for coffee here once in a while. But I have her hooked on this same coffee and mornings often find me in her kitchen unless I am working. If it’s a weekend I don’t go over, so they have their family time. Weekdays Dave is at work and kids are in school so it’s a time to chat with Jacobie. The coffee is good even cold, the taste does not go bad as it does with some coffee and coffee pots. I want coffee that taste like coffee! I drink tea as well.
I love the quiet of the morning to write in. Sometimes, its classical music or smooth Jazz in the background.
Weekends my grandson Oliver comes to stay. He is six and overheard me talk of life being different without Grampy Tom. That I had promised to do things differently, and change my life so it would be interesting, I would get outdoors more____. So, now he comes to get me out of the house as I had promised myself to do. We walk outside all around. He is my buddy now. He stays over to do things and cuddle at bedtime. He said, Grampy is not here now but I am!” How heart wrenchingly sweet he is. He blames Grampy for things that happen and says he is here. He holds my hand and goes to sleep or sleeps in my arms. I do not know how long this will last but I am grateful to have his love and attention. It’s perfect! Emma who is 9 is also over for visits. They, my daughter make life richer than if I lived alone in Maine. Her I get to impart who I am on Oliver, Emma and Alexander and my daughter. So, life is good with family around me. I am grateful for this.
How to teach them about art, music, culture comes easy. Emma at 3 sat with me watching full ballets, like Swan Lake, Gieselle, Sleeping Beauty, and we watched them several times. Especially the Nutcracker. We found 16 versions of this! Including a 3-dimensional book with paper dolls she played the whole Nutcracker out with. Today at 9 she continues dance classes, and to watch Broadway hits on the Broadway channel on her own or with me. I adore her of course as much as Ollie.
There is alot to offer them. There is a lot to experience. Life is what we make it. What matters most is how we look at life, and what we accept. We can change it up.
Best wishes! Pejj Nunes 1/4/2024

Wonderful! In my younger years I had the opportunity to see Nureyev dancing in Swan Lake in Vienna. People had lined up early in the morning for tickets in the evening 🙂

Live performances are wonderous.! As I watch my granddaughter Emma do her recitals, I think of those professional dancers who have put years into their performances. I think of what I learned from doing a Performance Arts class (in dance) for my degree and I had no such experiences. No prior education only a drama class, the experience performing in plays. Mine more in creating the scenery and outfits for others. Yet had a taste of what it took to choreograph my own dance and perform. This experience is something I will never forget., We went to see 4 professional performances because we were in the class. Many in the class had been dancers for years. I admired them all. My final dance was using music from Chopin. The best semester and memories had.
